The perfect workwear? The Campsie Top
The Campsie Top is wardrobe workhorse that we think works great for all occasions, but is also the obvious answer to 'what should I wear to work?!'
Below, a green satin-backed crepe Campsie feels lovely and elevated to wear thanks to the simple silhouette paired with the matte sheen of the crepe texture. Worn here with wool Glebe Pants (View B but with the elastic all the way round the waistband), I love the relaxed feel paired with the slightly fancier fabrics.
I'd love to experiment and sew up a Campsie with a silk crepe de chine. I feel like it would feel extra luxe to wear, but in my experience it's also easier to sew than some more slippery viscose and rayon fabrics.
Below, I've paired my lace Campsie Top with viscose satin Willandra Pants (which I modified to have the elastic all the way round). This combo feels very chic to have on, but I do think the Willandra and Campsie combo would work in any fabric!
I really enjoy how on the the Willandra, the drapey fabrics paired with the unique side-seam help them look much more tapered than they actually are. They feel just as relaxed, comfie and breezy as our Glebe Pants do- but just a touch fancier!
With any sheer fabric version of the Campsie, a silky Nullarbor Cami (which will take about 1 yard of fabric) will help make this top feel a bit more office-appropriate!
For other pairings with the Campsie, our tapered Birchgrove Pants in a wool (like this camel pair of mine), or even our Sculthorpe Pants in a wool (like this camel pair on Lilli).
Experiment with fabrics your Campsie Top: silk noil, silk satin, crepe, crepe de chine, tencel, cupro, viscose/viscose blends, or rayon challis. These will all pair excellently with our aforementioned pants!
