If you're thinking about swimwear, we've got you covered!
This week, Leila has whipped up a couple of swimwear options so that she can make the most of summer! This lovely large-scale print was from Blackbird Fabrics and sold out very quickly last year!
Check out our blog which has a list of places across the world which stock swimwear supplies (like swim fabrics, and chlorine-resistant elastics)!
Want more summer sewing inspo? Or want cosy winter sewing inspo instead? We've got you covered over on our blog!
What did Leila make?
Leila used the Tarlee T-Shirt (with the mock-neck) and Kapunda Undies to make this swim two-piece. She didn't have enough fabric to make a matching Banksia Bralette Swim Top!
Rash vests (or rashies) are a common sight in Australia and New Zealand, and are often worn by non-surfers as an easy means of sun protection. In Leila's case, the high mock-neck will keep the sun off her neck and will help protect against sunburn!
Leila was thrilled to discover that she had enough fabric left to squeeze in a pair of Kapunda Undies, which she added swimwear elastic to. The high-waisted Kapundas work well in 4-way stretch and 2-way stretch fabric!
Banksia Swim Expansion
Did you know about the Banksia Swim Expansion which expands the possibilities of our Banksia Bralette and includes a tankini option and swimsuit bottoms?
The instructions for the Banksia Swim step you through doing a lovely binding on your swimwear elastic, for an excellently chlorine-resistant and comfortable pair of togs/bathers/swimmers! The swim tank includes a built-in bralette, and is great for wearing in and out of the water- we've both got cotton versions for lounging in!
