Waikerie Shirt and Dress 1 Sewing Pattern PDF

The Waikerie collection [pronounced like bakery] is designed for options! With three separate pattern offerings—Waikerie 1, 2, and 3—each featuring a dress and shirt in varying styles, you can create your own collection of tops and dresses with different finishes.

All Waikerie patterns feature a dropped shoulder, forward yoke seam, and a soft-faced collar that can be buttoned or left open. Dresses have an expansive pocket anchored to the side seam. Both views feature a short sleeve with a unique sleeve band.

Waikerie 1 View A: A cropped, boxy shirt with a back yoke, dropped shoulder, and forward yoke seam.

Waikerie 1 View B: Features the same cropped, boxy bodice as the View A, with the addition of a generously gathered skirt.

 Cup sizes
Where cup sizes have not been stated it's because the pattern is dart-free and has been designed to be 'cup-size flexible'. If you're unsure about what size to use, you can always email your measurements to help@munaandbroad.com for specific sizing advice.

Finished Garment Measurements:

Please select your size based primarily on your bust and hip measurement. Alterations in length can be made using the shorten/lengthen lines.

Fit Expectations: This shirt is designed to have a large amount of design ease. The yoke is designed to sit in front of the top of your shoulder.

Muna and Broad patterns are designed with large bodies in mind and we’ve ensured there’s room for you. Because of this, there’s no need to “size up”.

Suggested Fabric:

This pattern is designed for use with a variety of woven fabrics. Linen, cotton, rayon, silk, tencel, and viscose fabrics such as linen, linen blends, cotton lawn, broderie anglaise/eyelet lace, tencel, cupro, viscose/viscose blends, silk noil, silk charmeuse, rayon, or lightweight crepe would all be appropriate.

As with most garment sewing, we do not recommend the use of quilting cottons.

For Sizes L and M, use 150cm/60” wide fabric only

View A (top)

Notions - All Views

• 20” (50cm) lightweight, fusible interfacing
• Matching thread
• 5 buttons (5/8” or 15mm)

If you’re using a patterned fabric with a repeat that you’d like to match, you may need more fabric than what is suggested above. Ensure your fabric is washed and pre-shrunk before cutting.

The cropped length of the shirt makes it especially perfect for pairing with all of our high-waisted bottoms. Pair the shirt with pants like our our wide-leg Glebe Pants, drapey Willandra Pants and our tapered, side-pocketed Sculthorpe Pants.  It's also the perfect length for pairing with our Pyrmont Skirt (for wovens) and Whitlam Skirt (for knits).
